How do you keep individual priorities in focus?
Real teambuilding however, is a process whereby a group of people share a powerful experience AND couple it with meaningful follow up. The breakthroughs that team members experience during a teambuilding event, as well as the tools and skills that they were taught need to be reinforced and cultivated over time. Many organizations spend mucho dinero on high falutin’ events, and they skimp on the really important part - reinforcement and follow up.
How do you keep corporate priorities in proper focus with all team members?
Getting everyone on your team rowing in the same direction is no small task. One of the tools that we share with many of our clients is the Top 5 Priority Model. In a nutshell, it calls for leaders to communicate, in an effective way and on a regular basis, the top five priorities of the organization. Often times, the top priorities are same from month to month, and the leader’s communication of this is a healthy reaffirmation. Other times, however, particularly during periods of rapid change, priorities can change, and typically, even though we believe as leaders that we have communicated well, our people are not clear on the organization’s changing priorities.
Bottom Line: If you desire a nimble organization filled with agile staff members, please do two things: 1. Share the organization’s top five priorities with people on a regularly scheduled basis. 2. Call us today for great implementation strategies and other focus-generating ideas.
